LYMAN ¬–The Lyman Board of Trustees recognized and honored Lyman’s football team and coaches at their meeting Nov. 20.

This year is one for the history books for the 2-A Wyoming state football champion Lyman High School team. Not only did they earn the state title, they finished the season undefeated.

Never before in the history of Lyman High School has this been the case. Coaches attributed the title and undefeated season to the hard work of team members and coaches.

In other business, Dave Decoria reported to the board his findings in the district audit report. He stated, “I agree with the numbers you’ve come up with without qualification. You have very knowledgeable people working in your business office. That you have only two adjustments in the audit is pretty remarkable.” The board voted unanimously to accept the report.

The board also recognized and honored Traci Haycock, Mike Legalt and Dan Covolo for their time and service to the school District.

Haycock and Legalt resigned their positions on the board earlier this year.

Covolo after serving on the board for 20 years was defeated in the general election this month. He, during his tenure has also served on both the National School Board, and the Wyoming State School Board. Board Chairman Jim Eyre described Covolo, as one of the most passionate board members.

The Z-Pass program was discussed at length by board members and several audience members. At issue were concerns about privacy and safety issues of students participating in the program. Board chairman Jim Eyre informed audience members parents have the option to, “opt out” of the program if they have concerns.
