Sheep Dogs in Action

Posted: Tuesday, Jul 16th, 2013

FORT BRIDGER – Jim Bridger FFA Chapter and alumni hosted the 3rd annual FFA Sheep Dog Trail in Fort Bridger on June 28-30.

There were three full days of dogs, handlers and sheep. This year’s event was great with over 31 handlers and 70 dogs participating, according to FFA advisor Cari Covolo.

To see more photos and each days winners and scoring check the FFA chapter out on Facebook at Jim Bridger Sheep Dog Challenge. All proceeds are used to benefit the FFA Scholarship Fund.

The chapter would like to thank the following people for their contributions to the success of the Trial. This could never be accomplished without your help and cooperation.

Sims Sheep Co. Shaun - Mike and Steve and families for the use of the sheep; Covolo Ranch - hauling sheep and providing the semi; Martin Aimone and family - use of land for trial; American Legion - use of Legion Hall and arena; Loreli Judd - organization and head trial director; Lavon Calzacorta – judge; Mike and Terry Lupow - course directors and FFA alumni and members for helping put on the trial.
