MOUNTAIN VIEW – This year’s Pretty in Pink was held in Mountain View on June 26, and high school girls from Evanston, Green River, Lyman and Mountain View High School participated.

Pretty in Pink is a fundraiser hosted by Casey Kuckert’s Allstate Insurance. A little over $1,500 was raised and donated to three local charitys – Bridger Valley Relay for Life, American Cancer Society; Carson Cares, Providing winter clothes for children to keep them warm; and The Weekend Backpack Project, provides a backpack full of food for children for the weekend while they are not in school during the week.

The fundraiser was held at Mountain View High School on June 26.

“We start practicing and designing our show in January, all the girls donate all their time and are also asked to provide a silent auction basket to auction off the night of the event to raise money for the charities chosen,” Kuckert said. “Our theme was Marilyn Monroe so we designed our show around quotes by Marilyn celebrating being a confident woman and being proud of who you are no matter your shape or size. Each song was designed around confidence – Born This Way by Lady Gaga, Shine Bright Like a Diamond by Rhianna and Your Worth More Than Gold by Britt Nicole.

The program’s signature number is Pretty in Pink and is used to “kick off the show,” Kuckert said. The girls dress all in pink to raise awareness around breast cancer. They also dedicate this number to a family member or friend whose life has been touched by cancer.

“We were honored this year to have a guest speaker, breast cancer survivor Angie Pitts, who talked about her cancer journey, how your attitude is everything when battling this disease and how every little contribution helps with the fight against cancer,” Kuckert said.
