LYMANóThe 30 mph speed zone on South Main Street in Lyman has been extended another 553 feet to the south, to accommodate the new Connerís Way sub-division.
When the Connerís Way sub-division was established, it not only added another intersection onto Main Street, but as more and more houses were built on that street, vehicular and pedestrian traffic increased as well.
Until the south end of Main Streetís 30 mile per hour zone was extended last week, this intersection fell within the 55 mile per hour zone.
Maintaining the safety of motorists and pedestrians was the primary factor and consideration for the extension of the 30 mile-per-hour zone in an attempt to keep the traffic slowed through this area.
