Operation Christmas Child

SOUTHWEST WYOMING—One of the relay centers for Operation Christmas Child will be set up in Lyman at the Bridger Valley Baptist Church during the National Collection Week, Nov. 18-25.
The program is designed to make Christmas a reality for needy kids around the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement. Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, is ramping up as residents prepare to collect 1,200 gift-filled shoeboxes.
Drop off times for Lyman are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 4-7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to noon and Monday, Nov.25, 8-10 a.m.

Local collection sites in the Southwest Wyoming area are collecting gift-filled shoebox to send to a child overseas. Then the shoebox gifts will be delivered to children worldwide. For many children, the shoebox gift will be the first gift they have ever received.
