Gust of wind sends burns out of control

MOUNTAIN VIEW Two controlled burns were caught by gusts of wind March 25 sending them out of control, requiring the Mountain View Fire Department to get involved.

Roughly 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, a controlled willow burn at 220 Lariate Drive in Mountain View was caught by a gust of wind.

The Mountain View Fire Department was dispatched and the situation was controlled quickly. The fire department remained at the scene for an hour as a precaution.

Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. another controlled burn was caught by a gust of wind sending it out into a field off of Highway 414 near the Bridger Valley Assembly of God Church.

Once again the Mountain View Fire Department was dispatched, and the situation was quickly controlled. The fire department was on the scene for roughly an hour.
