EVANSTON — The Uinta County Commission again approved updates for the Fort Bridger Airport in their last meeting in February.
Work on the airport has been on-going and has included work on the fence, the air strips. The latest approvals included approve Amendment No. 9 to the contract with Jacobs Engineering for the runway marking project for $23,210 with a 10 percent match from the county.
In other action, the commissioners approved a resolution authorizing Wyoming Horse Racing to conduct business within Uinta County and allowing for historic horse racing as requested by Tim Beppler, attorney for Eugene Joyce of Wyoming Horse Racing. In response to a question by Commissioner Wendell Fraughton, Joyce said they were moving their operation to Porters because they need more space for operation. The operation had been operating out of the Legal Tender.
The speed limit study for Wyoming Highway 414 from Mountain View to the Utah state line was tabled for further information.
Also at Feb. 7 meeting, the Commission appointed Esther Aimone to a three-year term on the Bridger Valley Heritage Museum Board.For the complete article see the 03-10-2017 issue.
