MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View council will look into whether an E-cigarette policy should be written up for public buildings in the town.
There is not a clear policy regarding the use of E-cigarettes in public buildings in the town. The council agreed to research the issue to decide if there should be an addition to the ordinance on smoking to include E-cigarettes.
Mayor Scott Dellinger gave an update on some new laws that will be going into effect in July. The biggest one will be the allowing of guns into public buildings. The bill passed in Cheyenne, and this coming July it will be legal to carry firearms into public buildings. The only buildings in which guns will not be allowed, according to the law, will be school buildings and privately owned businesses where the owner does not want to allow guns. An example of the law will be that a citizen can carry a firearm into a town council meeting but will not be allowed to carry a gun into a school board meeting.
