MOUNTAIN VIEW – On Thursday, Sept. 13, the Mountain View Lady Buffalos took on the #5 ranked team from Lander.
The game was a hard match-up, but the Buffalos fought hard in every set. In the first set, the Lady Buffs clobbered Lander, with a 13-25 win. However, the Mountain View girls faltered in the next two sets, with a 21-25 loss in the second and a 17-25 loss in the third. In the fourth game, the Buffalos played with a determination to win, and pulled off a 25-20 win, sending the game to a fifth and final set to 15 points. The Lander team was able to inch away points from the Buffs and the Mountain View team took a 8-15 loss.
Madison Vitt led the team with 11 kills and three ACE serves in the game. McKell Hadlock also stepped up for Mountain View, delivering seven kills and three blocks. Arianna Kuckert added 20 digs to her own individual statistics and her team’s effort.
Last Saturday, the Lady Buffs faced off against Jackson. Jackson claimed all three sets against the Lady Buffs, who took a 19-25 loss in the first, a 21-25 loss in the second, and a 23-25 loss in the third. Vitt once again led the team, with 10 kills and 13 digs. Kuckert contributed another six kills and 12 digs. Hannah Bugas had 22 more digs for the Buffs, as well as having a serving percentage of 100 percent. Hannah Black added 13 assists.
