Mountain View crushes Pinedale in Homecoming gridiron matchup

MOUNTAIN VIEW –The Mountain View Buffs took on the Pinedale Wranglers on their home turf in their Homecoming football game and walked away with a score of 44-12 for the win.

“This was a great win for us, and I am extremely proud of how the team bounced back after the tough loss in Lovell,” said head coach Brent Walk. Walk said he was extremely pleased with his offensive line as well as Austin Housekeeper, Caleb Flake, Cade Covington and Ethan Salsbury. Walk said he was excited about the way his team played by saying, “A tremendous amount of effort goes to the kids because they prepared extremely hard all week long.”

On offense, the Buffalos racked up 440 yards on the day, including 165 rushing and 275 passing yards. Housekeeper led the passing attack by completing 14 of 23 passes for 275 yards, throwing only one interception. Flake led the team’s receiving effort, grabbing four and compiling 141 yards. Jake Drca had six receptions and 82 yards. Covington led the team in rushing with 13 carries and 82 yards, followed by Housekeeper with seven carries and 69 yards, giving Housekeeper a total of 344 yards.

Brennan Walk and Housekeeper led the team’s defensive efforts with 29 points apiece. Both had two interceptions, one of which Walk was able to run back for a touchdown. Levi Harmon had 26 defensive points and Covington had 25.
