LYMAN – Lyman’s Lady Eagles basketball team, currently tied for first place in the conference with a 4-0 record, delivered two big wins last weekend in their games against Cody and Powell.

The Eagles stepped it up on Friday, Jan. 4, when they snuck in a 36-34 win over Cody and continued the trend the next day with a 40-32 win over Powell.

“It is always a great feeling to win when we work hard and play as a team.” said Bailey Gross. “We owe a big thanks to our coaches for how they’ve helped us. This was a marquee win for our team.”

With these two wins, the Eagles have jumped to a 7-3 overall record, equivalent to that of Star Valley, who is currently considered the second-ranked team in the state.

Bailey Hallam headed up the Eagles’ efforts against Cody, scoring 11 points to lead the team, including seven of which she had earned within the first quarter to kick up the energy for the Eagles.

“I love the way our team is really coming together,” said Rachelle Harris about the Eagles’ efforts. “We have grown so much already this season, and the exciting thing is that we have even more room to improve. I love the game of basketball, and I love my coaches.”

In the game against Powell, the Lady Eagles were led by Tiffani Dennis who contributed 11 points, and Taylor Limoges who added nine.
