MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Mountain View Buffs faced off against Powell and Cody, both conference opponents, last weekend and were unable to claim a win in either game
Despite the Buffs efforts, they fell first to Powell, 48-59, and later Cody, 48-59.
"This past weekend was not quite the way we wanted to start our conference play, but it does not mean we will pack it in. We will come back and work harder and try harder each day to improve. We played well for most of the game, but in each game we had a quarter where we did not score well. We feel that we can beat both of those teams, but we have to play well for the entire game. The kids work so hard every time they take the floor. We need to get to the point where everyone is ‘on’ at the same time. When that happens we will be pretty tough," head coach Tony Micheli said.
Hayden Meeks, a senior leader for the Buffs, said, “For this weekend’s game we played hard. We just couldn’t put all four quarters together, but we played tough defense and played as a team. We played with a bunch of excitements. We just need for forget about last week and come hard for Lander and Jackson this week.”
