LYMAN – The Lyman Eagles claimed a close conference win this weekend as they inched in a 56-53 win over the Cody Broncs on Friday, Jan. 4.
The next day, the Eagles played another close one, this time against Powell, but were unable to overcome, losing 48-52.
“We came out slow,” said senior Marty Rollins about the game against Powell. “We couldn’t seem to get started. We just never got into our game plan of running up and down the court, therefore it hurt us in the long run.”
Rollins contributed five rebounds to the Eagles in the Powell game, equal to the rebounds of Kyle Stokes. The Eagles were led in rebounding by Skyler Walker, with 10, followed by Tyson Gillies with six.
“We got down in the first half,” said Gillies about the game against Cody, “But, we showed that we wouldn’t give up with our scrappiness throughout the second half.”
