MOUNTAIN VIEW – Last week, the Mountain View Lady Buffs’ conference match ups against Jackson and Lander resulted in two losses.
On Friday, in the game against Jackson, the Lady Buffs took a 26-37, and the following day against Lander, a 43-55 loss.
Mckell Hadlock, the Lady Buffs senior leader who has been constantly stepping up throughout the season, once again rose to the occasion to lead the team in scoring in both games. Against Jackson, Hadlock put up nine points and continued to impress against Lander, racking up 11 points. Madison Vitt trailed just behind Hadlock in each game, with eight against Jackson and 10 against Lander. Kam Dellinger added an additional 10 points against Lander.
“We played pretty good,” said head coach Dustin Rees about the game against Jackson. “We didn’t handle pressure well, and we struggled at shooting from the field and free throw line.” Rees emphasized that these are two aspects of their game the Lady Buffs need to improve in order to be successful.
In the game against Lander, the Lady Buffs drastically improved their shooting, scoring 44 percent of their attempts from the field and sinking 12 of 15 free throws.
“Overall, we’re pretty happy with the weekend,” said Rees. “We continue to improve with each game.”
