LYMAN – The Lady Eagles’ undefeated conference record was finally blemished last weekend as they fell to Powell, 39-42.

The next day, the Lady Eagles came back with vigor to claim a win against Cody, 48-36.

The Lady Eagles were led by senior Tiffani Dennis in the Powell game as she put up 15 points. Dennis was forced to leave the game due to injury close to the final buzzer, but overcame and fought through the pain to reenter the game, where she led the team in a final attempt to overcome the Panthers.

“Even though we lost, we took the loss in stride, and it hasn’t downed our spirits,” Dennis said. “It was a rough game for us and we will learn from it.”

In the Cody game, the Lady Eagles were driven by a trio of juniors who drove their team forward to the win. The trio consisted of Taylor Limoges, who led the team in scoring with 12 points; Bailey Hallam, who trailed behind with 11; and Mishawn Bluemel, who added nine points as well as a huge defensive effort which gave the Eagles the push to win.

“We played really well,” said Limoges. “We ran the transition offense like our coach wanted. I’m excited for Regionals and the rest of the year.”
