LYMAN –The Lady Eagles were unable to pull off a win last weekend, as they faced Jackson and Star Valley and fell short in both games.

As regional tournament looms on the horizon, the Lady Eagles look to recuperate in the following few weeks to recover from the 30-54 loss against Star Valley and 37-39 loss to Jackson. While they had trouble from the get-go against Star Valley, the loss to Jackson was a much closer battle with the Eagles withholding the lead through most of the game. Jackson finally pulled away with the win within the last minute of the game. The Lady Eagles record, which is now 10-3 in the conference, puts them in second place where they will stay until regionals.

“This weekend was definitely tough for our team. Yes, we are missing some of our players, but I think the losses really snapped us back to reality,” said sophomore Lindy Bluemel. Bluemel helped lead the Lady Eagles last weekend with a high score of 10 points against Star Valley and the second highest against Jackson, with seven, “It really helped us all get the fact that we need to step up and keep working hard into our minds. The pain we felt will fuel our fire to help us try 110 percent in the future.”

“We hit some rough patches this weekend,” added Makailey Smith. “But they have fueled our fire and now we are looking to come play our guts out for this week and the rest of the season.”

Smith stepped up to lead the team with 13 points and several big rebounds against Jackson.
