CASPER— Lyman was eliminated from the state tournament Nov. 2, late in the consolation round in Casper last weekend.

“Overall, we had a very good season. I thought our best play came at the regional tournament, and it was a huge step for my program to get a win at state,” head coach Brecia Hansen said.

Lyman entered the tournament with a match against Douglas, the #2 East team. After fighting into five sets (13-25. 26-24, 25-13, 25-20, 4-15), Douglas came out on top sending Lyman into a consolation round match with Mountain View Nov. 1.

Senior Taylor Limoges had 16 kills and 15 digs. She was selected for both All Conference and All State.

Senior Mishawn Bluemel had 12 kills and three blocks, and Senior Bailey Hallam had 21 digs in the match against Douglas.

“This was an up-and-down match and, unfortunately, our worst moments came in set five. We battled and battled with Douglas and ended up unraveling in set five,” Hansen said. “I really feel that if we could have won a tight game two, we would have taken the match. To Douglas’ credit, they didn’t go away and we made lots of unforced errors.”

Lyman was able to eliminate Mountain View in three scrappy sets, (25-19, 25-21, 25-18).
