MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Lady Buffs swept the 3A West competition and claimed the 3A Regional championship last Saturday.

The Buffalos take on competition as the number one seed from the West at the state tournament, which began yesterday in Casper (results weren’t available at press time) and will continue with consolation matches, semifinals and the championship games today and tomorrow.

“Overall, we are extremely excited about how we played this past weekend. We got great minutes from our bench, which allowed us to stay in our press longer than we normally do,” head coach Dustin Rees said. “Coming into the tournament, we talked about seizing the opportunity to play in front of our home crowd. As coaches, we really stressed to the girls to enjoy the games, play hard, play together and have fun. They did just that. The support we had during the regional championship was incredible, it was by far the largest and loudest crowd we have every played in front of. The crowd got the girls going, got them excited and were a big part of our success.”

The Lady Buffs first game Thursday at the state tournament was against the Newcastle Dogies seeded number four from the East.Due to their loss, they played Star Valley at 10:so a.m. Friday.
