Rodney Jen-sen, 71, passed away on July 20, from cancer. He was born on Feb. 10, 1936, in Lyman.
Jensen was the son of Leah (Wilson) and Thorvaid Jensen. After graduating from high school, he went into the Air Force in July 1954. While in the Air Force, he studied and became an electronic technician for the FAA. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work at Hillfield Air Force Base in Utah. Jensen learned to be a pilot.
He married Sharon Bullock on Oct. 2, 1959. He was stationed in Great Falls, Salt Lake City, and then in 1962 he moved back to Mountain View. He worked on Aspen Mountain, outside of Rock Springs, and retired in 1991. He was extremely intelligent and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was always fixing someone’s hay equipment. He loved his target rifles and going to turkey shoots. He enjoyed his dogs and especially his racehorses. He loved to play on his computer. He was very smart when it came to electronics. He enjoyed rock hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and two children: Todd (Linda) Jensen, and Sharmie Jensen and son-in-law, Mike Ness. He is survived by two granddaughters, Mikayla Jensen and Dannel Jensen; great-granddaughter, Baylee Jensen, and step-grandchildren, John, Julie and Ty; brothers, Allen, Craig, and Sherman; and a sister, Ilene. Many friends in the intermountain area also survive him.
Jensen was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Udele.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
