GREEN RIVER - Michael John Mulinix, 45, of Green River , died Thursday, March 14, at his home after a 14 month courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 27, 1967, in Rock Springs, the son of Johnny Mulinix and Pam Killpack Lucas. He attended schools in Green River and graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1985.
He married Samantha Cooke July 15, 2000, in Rock Springs.
He worked as a control room operator at OCI for 10 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His interests were golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Samantha Mulinix, Green River; sons, Justin and Hayden Mulinix, Centerville, Maryland; and Michael Mulinix, Green River; parents. Johnny and Tina Mulinix. Green River; and Pam Lucas, Meridian, Idaho; grandparents, Ray and Kathryn Tarter, Green River; brothers ,Rob Mulinix (Kari) and David Mulinix (Janae) all of Green River; brother-in-law ,Mike Cooke, Rock Springs; sister, Janae (Mike) Schumacher. Eagle, Idaho; six aunts, five uncles , numerous cousins, two nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Wayne and Vera Mulinix, and W. June Red Killpack.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone, Green River.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84112.
