“Too big for their britches”

Posted: Tuesday, Jan 29th, 2013

Dear Editor,

After reading Mr. Nelson’s excellent guest column last week, several questions lingered in my mind about the RFID ZPass at the Lyman schools.

Have you ever seen a hen and her chicks or a mother duck with her babies? Even they demonstrate the ability to look after and protect their youngsters. Shouldn’t we, the humans, be able to responsibly look after kids without the use of the RFID ZPass? Maybe assign a reasonable number of children to each adult, who would exercise some authority to look after the kids?

Is the school education the kids on how important their liberties and freedoms are? Do they read the Constitution or just the book, 1984? The Constitution is real, 1984, fiction.

The school is funded by the people’s tax dollars, and, therefore, they are the ones who may be subject to “consequences,” not the students or parents.

Has the school become the master?

Has the school become too big for its britches?

Mr. Nelson is right. Students’ rights must not be violated. This is not unlike the indoctrination of the innocent and unknowing…a terrible misuse of trust and authority by the school. It’s our duty to guard our freedom.

I wonder how many tax dollars were spent on the RFID ZPass tracking devices without parental consent.

I wonder why the school didn’t consider the dangers involved, as Mr. Nelson pointed out.

I wonder where did the school get this idea.

I wonder if the school authorities have read the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It’s a short read.

I wonder if they would let me put a tracking device on them.

Yup…too big for their britches!
