Clyde R Gillespie Jr. 1929 - 2012

Posted: Tuesday, Oct 2nd, 2012

Clyde R Gillespie, Jr., 83, devoted husband, father and grandfather died Sept.30, in the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, Elko, Nev.

He was born in Hailey, Idaho, to Clyde R Gillespie, Sr. and Reva Moore and spent his early years in the beautiful Stanley Basin along the Salmon River. He met and married his life love, Tuana Corbett in Salmon, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year.

He was the proud father of three children, Clyde, Kathy and Karen.

Clyde’s passion was auto and mining mechanics. His ability to diagnosis and repair problems of any kind came naturally. He possessed a unique ingenuity in his dealings with everyday life. He took pride in his work and always strived to go above and beyond with anything he would do. His family was his number one priority and he worked hard to provide for them.

He spent over 40 years in various mining industries in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Nevada. After his retirement, he spent his time enjoying his family and friends.

Clyde was a veteran having honorably served his country in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Tuana; three children, Clyde (Lynda) Gillespie, Kathy (Bob) Stahl and Karen Gillespie Smith; six grandchildren, TJ and Tacy, Ryan and Jenny, Kylie and John; and one great-grandchild, Kaden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Trudy and Doris; and one brother (at the age of 2).

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, at the LDS Chapel in Spring Creek, Nev., on Boyd Kennedy Road.
