Mountain View FCCLA attends conference

Posted: Wednesday, Nov 7th, 2012

The Mountain View High School FCCLA Chapter had the opportunity to travel to Casper for the FCCLA Fall Conference.

The students from the Mountain View Chapter that attended were Aiden Anderson, Kristy Armstrong, Samantha Bailsford, Kiley Case, Cheyenne Dunn, Carli Fenus, Morgan Harris, Lexi Hereford, Garrett Key, Shaylynn Martin, Abbey Meeks, Adam Niemi, Siera Norris, Ashton Standifer and Nathon Taylor.

The conference’s theme was “YOLO,” and encouraged members to live life to the fullest. This gathering included many workshops for the participants such as a workshop on leadership skills, cowboy ethics and events that could be used for state projects.

The conference featured special guest Craig Schneller who captivated the students with his devastating story of his 18 year-old-daughter, Breanna, who was murdered in 2009. His speech encouraged positive choices and strengthened leadership skills.

Members of the Mountain View Chapter felt the conference was different, emotional and exciting.
