Ronald Dean Terry Sept. 16, 1930 – Nov. 22, 2012

GREEN RIVER – Ronald Dean Terry, 82, of Green River, died Thursday, Nov. 22, at his home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

He was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Lyman, the son of Cleo A. and Anna M. Terry. He attended schools in McKinnon, Lyman and Green River.

He joined the Army National Guard as a member of the 141st Tank Battalion and achieved the rank of Tank Commander before his honorable discharge March 18, 1952.

He married Darlene Workman of Concordia, Kan., April 22, 1963, in Hebron, Neb. He started Ron’s Portable Welding in 1975 in Green River. He worked as an independent welder in the oil fields of Wyoming and Utah until his retirement in 1998.

His interests, after his retirement, were spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, riding his 4 wheeler and watching sports on TV.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Terry, Green River; daughter, Eva Walsh (Danny) Green River; granddaughter, Tori Schmerge (Caleb), Pullman, Wash.; grandson, Ronald Walsh, Laramie; two sisters, Shirley Watson, Mills; and Cleo Ann Glasspoole Casper; numerous nieces and nephews; family pets, Sami Jo and Zoey Rae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles; and sister, Karen.

Graveside services with military honors were Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Lyman City Cemetery.
