MOUNTAIN VIEW – Mountain View Downtown Development funds were at the forefront of the Mountain View council meeting Tuesday night.
Utilization of the funds was discussed in the workshop and a resolution was passed in the regular meeting.
Resolution 2012-6 addresses the transfer of the “real property to Uinta Bank and authorize the Mayor to execute the warrant deed and necessary documents to complete the transfer.”
MVDD funds had been used through the relocation and construction of the new building for Uinta Bank in its current location. Information provided in the workshop indicated the bank had repaid its commitment to the town, and the property could now be transferred to the bank.
In other action in the regular meeting, the council approved extended hours for New Year’s Eve for Badlands. According to owner Bettie Tripp, plans for the evening include a bank and keeping the restaurant open through the event. When asked for a projected time for closure, Tripp replied, “till we’re done.”
The use of MVDD funds was discussed more extensively in the workshop prior to the meeting. The discussion centered on the establishment of a loan, the amount of interest and the length of a loan. One of the major reasons for the proposal was so water service could be accessed by the business.
