LYMAN – Lyman’s boys basketball team opened their season last weekend in Riverton and pulled out two wins.
The boys began tournament play with matchups against Worland, Douglas and Riverton. The Eagles were able to pull out two wins, claiming a 63-49 win over Worland and a 56-51 over Douglas. However, the boys faltered in the competition against Riverton, taking a 41-75 loss in the game.
Senior Kyle Stokes showed his leadership skills for the Eagles in the tournament, leading them in all three games with 22 points against both Worland and Douglas and 11 against Riverton. Fellow classmates Cisco Taylor and Dalton Schofield shared in the points against Riverton, each accumulating 11 of their own points.
“I was pleased with their hustle,” said Eagle head coach Don Toomer. “We are just trying to get them through the football mindset and into basketball. Overall, I’m happy with the weekend. We improved in each and every game.”
