MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Mountain View Lady Buffs returned from tournament play last weekend with a 2-1 record.
The tournament opened the season for the Lady Buffs. They played in a tournament hosted by Thermopolis. While in Thermopolis, the Buffs faced teams from Thermopolis, St. Stephens and Tongue River. The Buffs were able to return home with wins in two of the games. Though they fell 32-51 against Thermopolis, the Buffalos were able to clean up their game and deliver a 52-25 win against St. Stephens, and a 65-41 win against Tongue River.
Senior Mckell Hadlock was a leader for the Lady Buffs in all three games, with 15 points against Thermopolis, 20 against St. Stephens, and 15 points and five rebounds against Tongue River. Madison Vitt was also a big contributor for the Buffs, with eight rebounds against Thermopolis and 16 points and 10 rebounds against St. Stephens. Hannah Bugas contributed 13 points against Tongue River.
“I think our youth really showed,” said Lady Buff head coach, Dustin Rees, “We came out a little tentative. We got better with each game, and we’re looking forward to playing Pinedale on Thursday.”
