CHEYENNE – Contracts totaling $20.2 million for seven highway projects around the state were awarded by the Wyoming Transportation Commission during its December meeting in Laramie.
Southwestern Wyoming contracts included HK Contractors of Idaho Falls submitted the low bid of $2.7 million for patching to extend the life of pavement on highway sections in Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater, Teton and Uinta counties.
The project also will include installation of concrete pads, retention ponds and liners in six locations to meet environmental regulations for minimizing runoff from stockpiles of the sand-salt mixture used to improved traction on icy and snowy highways. The work is expected to be done by Oct. 31.
