MOUNTAIN VIEW The Eagles and Buffalos met up for the first time this season. The competition was tough on the Mountain View home floor, but in the end, the Eagles were able to triumph with a 54-45 win over the Buffalos.
The Mountain View team was led by senior Hayden Meeks, with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
I felt we played very hard and way enthusiastic, Meeks said. We were very emotional and that made it a way fun game. It was a good game to get back on track to winning.
Teammate Austin Henestra tacked up an additional 10 points for the Buffs. The Buffs as a team had 13 assists, including four each from Austin Henestra and Brennan Walk.
The kids played very hard and competed very well, said head coach Tony Micheli. We were a little banged up, but the kids showed some heart and courage. We obviously came up a little short, but we did a lot of good things and played better than we have the past couple of weeks. We will come back and make some adjustments and continue to work hard and improve. The scoring was pretty well balanced coming from a variety of players.
