MOUNTAIN VIEW – Those were the words of Chris Forsyth, Leading Tech Development, Tuesday just prior to noon about the new Family Dollar store in Mountain View.

He said the store’s opening “got pushed back” because of the 600 plus stores Family Dollar opened last year. Ideally, the chain would have opened the store the first part of December Forsyth said. He added, the company takes and blocks out store openings in December and all of January and that is what had held up the opening of the store in Mountain View.

He said the store would “open the end of this month” and crews would be on site to get the store up and running.

Forsyth said Family Dollar currently has 50 stores under construction. A new store was opened in Carlin, Nev., Wednesday, Feb. 6. It and the store in Mountain View are two of the 730 stores that will be opened by Family Dollar in 2013.

The installation of coolers at the Mountain View store was started on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Forsyth said, the installation of coolers is the first step. Approximately a week later the interior fixtures would arrive and be installed. Four or five days later, merchandise would start arriving to stock the store.
