LYMAN – The Lyman swimmers attended the 3A West Conference Championship in Powell last weekend, and were able to bring home top places while preparing for state.
The Eagles finished fourth of six teams. They earned a total of 167 points, just behind Kemmerer, who had 181. Powell claimed 275.5 and Lander grabbed 382.5. Cody and Sublette fell behind the Eagles in fifth and sixth place.
The boys kicked it off when their 200 yard medley relay team finished third in their event in a time of 1:52.32. They were beat by teams from Lander and Kemmerer. In the 200 free relay, the Eagles team finished in a time of 1:39.16, also taking third, just behind teams from Lander and Kemmerer. The 400 yard free relay took fourth for the Eagles, with a finishing time of 4:08.27.
In the 200 yard freestyle, Coltan Fotheringham grabbed a fifth place finish for the Eagles when he finished in a time of 1.59.15. Fotheringham later finished the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:28.36, giving him fourth place.
Christopher Sorenson finished the 200 yard individual medley in a time of 2:28.35, taking sixth for the Eagles. Sorenson also took sixth in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 11:05.85.
In the 50 yard freestyle, Bransen Bradshaw finished .05 seconds behind the leader, taking second in a time of 23.56. Bradshaw also competed in the 100 yard fly, where he finished with a 1:01.63 for fourth place.
Freshman Charles Lallatin took fifth place in the 100 yard freestyle when he finished with a time of 55.17.
These swimmers and several others will have the chance to compete at state this week, where they will compete against the best swimmers in Wyoming.
