Sherman Arthur Jensen Sept. 4, 1928 Feb. 20, 2013

Sherman Arthur Jensen, 84, returned to our Father in Heaven after a full and happy life on Feb.20.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1928, to Leah Viola Wilson and Thorvald Arthur Jensen.

He was born, lived, loved and died in Lyman. He received his draft notice the day he married Gloria Shurtleff on Nov.18, 1950. He served our country from 1950-1952 fighting in three of the four major battles of the Korean Conflict.

He supported his wife and six children by working for FMC for 41 years. In 1967, he gained a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His family became an eternal family on Feb.20, exactly 46 years to the day he died. He served as executive secretary, ward clerk, High Priest group leader and worked in the Ogden Temple.

He loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, camping, boatingand sports, especially basketball. His fun personality will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Bradley and (Karen) Jensen , Albuquerque, N.M.; Jeani and (Ernie) Field, Syracuse, Utah; Bruce Jensen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jolane and (Jeff ) Thornock, Fruit Heights, Utah; Brian and (Alysia) Jensen and Colette and (Randy ) Christopherson, both of Lyman; two brothers, Allen (Gwynda) and Craig (Judy); sister-in- law, Sharon; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Udell and Rodney; and a sister, Eileen.

Our sincere gratitude to Shannon Meeks and the nurses at Best Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of our dad.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb.23, at 2 p.m. at the Lyman LDS Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the ward chapel as well as one hour prior to services. Interment will follow services at the Lyman City Cemetery.
