MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Mountain View Lady Buffs faced Jackson and Star Valley last weekend, but were unable to pull away with a win in either game.

Though the Buffs led Jackson throughout the first half of the game, they were unable to pull through in the end. Just before halftime in the Lady Buffs’ game, the lights went out throughout the town of Jackson. They Lady Buffs were forced to wait out the outage for nearly two hours. When the lights finally came back on and the Buffs retook the floor, they were unable to maintain their lead. With 3:58 minutes left in the third quarter Mountain View was still ahead by one point. When the buzzer sounded ending the third quarter, the Lady Buffs had added another point to lead by two, 26-24. They fell in the last moments of the game for a loss, 32-37.

The next day, the Lady Buffs faced off against Star Valley’s Lady Braves, conference leaders, and took another loss, 23-65.

“We played very well against Jackson, we just couldn’t finish,” said head coach Dustin Rees. “We struggled from start to finish against Star valley, but continue to improve.”

“We played two good teams this weekend that pressured us a lot,” added Lady Buff Aubrey Newton. “It was a tough weekend, but we’re right at the top of the mountain and are peaking at the right time. We are really excited to play Lyman, and then go see if we can mix things up at Regionals.”
