For the Pioneer
URIE –Hunter Peterson of Lyman High School was been chosen by the Wyoming Rural Electric Association (WREA) to attend the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Youth Tour in June.
According to an announcement by Bridger Valley Electric, Peterson will join high school students from around the country to learn first-hand about America’s heritage and experience the national government in action. Peterson has also been selected to represent Wyoming on the Youth Leadership Council, and he will attend a leadership conference sponsored by NRECA in July in Arlington, Va. His responsibilities will include attending NRECA’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tenn., in February. The Youth Leadership Council represents their states as color guard during opening ceremonies and help NRECA staff during the meeting.
The reason Peterson has gotten involved with all of this is because Bridger Valley Electric selected him to attend and represent Bridger Valley Electric at the Utah Rural Electric Leadership Challenge last summer. He is returning this summer as a youth director at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. His travel expenses are covered by BVEA, NRECA and WREA.
