LYMAN – David Jones of NGL Connections met with the Lyman Town Council March 7, requesting a lease agreement with the town and asking for permission to place antennas near the top of the water tower in Lyman to increase their coverage in the area.

According to Jones NGL, presently has 30 percent coverage in the Town of Lyman and the additional antennas would expand that coverage to 95 percent. The addition of the antennas would also according to Jones provide a faster internet speed. He stated Union currently offers a speed of 1.5 Mb/s. NGL would make it possible for wireless customers to contract for a speed of 15 to 20 Mb/s. NGL, currently offers, according to Jones, an special internet package at a cost of $99.95 per month for 12 Mb/s. The lease agreement was also discussed.

Andy Hewitt, Lyman mayor stated, “If we can work something out we’re not opposed,” to the idea.

Lyman Police Chief Tom Clark voiced his concerns to the council about the old Uinta Inn property at 203 East Clark Street. According to Clark, he has inspected the property and is concerned about not the instability of the structure and several containers stored there that have been breached and are leaking chemicals.

“There is definitely a hazard there, but I have unable to contact Steve Lopez Junior, the owner of the property,” Clark said.

Concessions for the All Bull Rodeo scheduled for Aug. 10 was discussed by the council. The council approved a $50 vendor fee and an unlimited number of vendor sites will be available. One concern however, was that there is only one electricity source available for vendors at the rodeo grounds complex. Those interested in providing concessions are asked to contact the Lyman Town Hall for details.
