Mountain View has new council member

MOUNTAIN VIEW – The oath of office was administered to new council member Bryan Ayres at the Mountain View council meeting Tuesday night.

Mayor Scott Dellinger administered the oath of office to Ayres. Ayres was named to replace Barbara Hamblin who resigned at the last meeting. He will fill out her term. Hamblin was reelected to the council in the last election.

According to Dellinger during the council’s workshop, Ayres received the next highest number of votes in the last election so he was named to replace Hamblin.

During regular session, the council approved an agreement with the Bridger Valley Little League for the use of the concession stand during the league’s season. According to Jenny Lynn Quinney, the league’s season and subsequent use of the fields will be From April 10 to July 20. Quinney said the league is still finalizing its schedule.

Dellinger also released the amount received from the direct distribution for the state for 2013-14. The town will receive $125,462.07. Of that, the town will receive $81,629.88 this year.

During the council’s workshop, Rick Guild, maintenance manager, said “the best news” on his report of the new sewer lagoon was all of the nuances of getting the new sewer lagoon up and running have been worked out. Guild said the town was in compliance with all of the environmental issues and was able to do a little more than was planned as the town had done a lot of the labor. He said the town would receive a check in April of $9,000 in reimbursement.
