Red alert in Mountain View deemed no threat to safety

EVANSTON – The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office and Mountain View Police Department were dispatched to the area near Mountain View Middle School where it was reported 0n April 17, following a report a man with a gun was seen.

Law enforcement quickly responded to the area and met with the subject regarding the report. After the investigation, it was determined no threat was present. That, in fact, the incident simply involved a resident transferring a hunting rifle from his vehicle into his residence and nothing criminal was found.

Sheriff Lou Napoli wants to remind the public that all complaints by citizens are taken seriously and thank the public for their involvement in keeping our communities safe. His primary concern is the protection of all citizens’ rights under the law.
