Madison Vitt placed in both the discus and shot put at state track.

CASPER – Members of the Mountain View track team who have scored all season scored at the state 3A track meet at Casper last weekend.
Both the boys and girls teams took 10 place, putting them in the middle of the pack.
Both Madison Vitt and Aubrey Newton added points in two events each to the girls team score. Hurdler Newton took fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles and sixth in the 300 meter hurdles. Her times were16.74 and 48.43, respectively. Newton took time off of both her seeds.
Vitt competed in the strength events. She took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 36-07.75, nailing her seed. She also took eighth in the discus throw with a distance of 107-05, almost a foot better than her seed.
Alyssa Sibelrud vaulted to new heights in the pole vault. She tied for third at regionals with a vault of 7-10.00. She took eight at state and stood on the podium for a vault of 8-06.00.
Rachel Hofer sprinted to a seventh place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.43, just .78 of a second behind the first place finish of a runner from Star Valley.
Sprinter Kam Dellinger took fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.02, just slightly under her seed time.
The girls 4x400 relay team – Dellinger, Hofer, Newton and Payton Madsen – took fifth out of a field of nine teams with a time of 4:19.98, slightly better than their seed time.
For the boys team, Kaylor Dolezal again surged to the front. Distance runner Dolezal took sixth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:39.46, taking almost two seconds off his seed. In the 3200, Dolezal placed fourth with a time of 10:07.98, almost nine seconds faster than his best time.
Also as a distance runner, Levi Harmon ran well in the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run even though he was unable to place.
The boys 4x800 meter relay team from Mountain View ¬Dolezal, Harmon, Brennan Walk and Caleb Flake – took fourth with a time of 8:33.84, slightly under their seed time.
Cade Covington also competed at state in the discus throw. He was unable to place. His distance was down slightly, but he was still in the middle of the competition.
