EVANSTON – The Uinta County Commissioners took more action on the improvements at the Fort Bridger Airport at their regular meeting on June 4.
The commissioners approved an application for Federal assistance for the airport’s improvement program. The amount of funds to be requested is $333,333 with a county match of $13,333.
Keith O’Conner, Jacobs Engineering, made the request. He also asked the county for approval for a sponsor certification of the Airport Improvement Plan.
No action was taken, but O’Conner told the commissioners they would need to respond to FAA within four to six weeks.
The project is to take 18 months to complete and will provide further study to see if any more work needs to be done at the airport.
In conjunction, the commissioners approved an amendment to an existing grant with WYDOT-Aeronautics Division for $4,759, with a county match of $95 in additional funding to complete the fence modifications at the Fort Bridger Airport.
In other major action, the commission approved a request by Lana Wilcox, Uinta County Clerk to approve an amendment, which increases several budgets in the county’s FY13 budget.
