Work on rail crossings will cause closure on WYO 412

Posted: Tuesday, Jun 18th, 2013

CARTER Union Pacific Railroad will be closing a section of WYO 412, near Carter, to replace two crossings on June 1820.

Replacing the crossings will include tearing out 80 feet of track, cutting the grade and replacing the track with an 8o-foot track panel. UP crews will also be installing 70 tons of ballast and then surfacing the newly laid track. New concrete crossing planks will also be installed.

The section of WYO 412 will be closed during the work, and no through traffic will be allowed. Traffic is advised to plan alternate routes during the closures.

There will be two static signs and one portable dynamite message board at the I-80 interchange near Lyman and at the US 189 interchange south of Kemmerer to warn motorists of the road closures.

WYDOT would like to remind drivers to slow down in work zones, be alert and cautious of roadside workers.
