FORT BRIDGER – The annual July 4 parade, sponsored by American Legion Post #36, will be held Thursday morning, July 4 at 11 a.m.

This year’s theme is “Honoring the Fallen Heroes.”

There will be a float for all Korean veterans. They are urged to ride on the float.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Ramon Arthur. Ted Atkins has been named Honorary Grand Marshal. Lester Zoellner was named Legionaire of the Year.

Line up time for entries to be judged is 8:30-9 a.m. in front of the American Legion Hall. There is no entry fee. Entry deadline is July 3, at 6 p.m. However, late entries can be entered at the time entries line up for judging.

To enter or for further information, contact Jarrol Jeppesen at 782-6476 or Marilyn Hollis at 782-6256.

Float entries need to take a completed entry form and check in at the Legion Hall. If someone doesn’t have an entry form, you can get one by contacting Jeppesen or pick one up when you line up for your entry to be judged.

In addition, the American Legion will sponsor a duck race at the Fort Bridger State Site at 2:30 p.m. Ducks will cost $5 each. The winner of the race will receive half of the proceeds. The other half will go to the American Legion Post #36.
