LYMAN — A Lyman man will serve two years in prison for possessing child pornography, a federal judge ruled July 29.

Kenneth Henningson, 63, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson. Henningson will serve two years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised probation. He will also pay a $500 fine and a $100 special assessment.

According to the indictment filed Jan. 16, a pair of computer hard drives containing child pornography and belonging to Henningson were seized by law enforcement officials Dec. 19, 2012. It was further asserted in the indictment that Henningson both received and transmitted, via the Internet, the illegal materials in October and November of last year.

After Henningson is paroled, he will be prohibited from accessing computers or electronic devices without monitoring equipment or the permission of a probation office, and he must register as a sex offender. In addition, he will not be permitted to associate with anyone under the age of 18, or a mentally-disabled adult.

The case was investigated by the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
