Laura C. Justis

GRANGER – Laura C. Justis, 89, Granger, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Deseret Health and Rehab Center in Rock Springs.
She was born on July 28, 1924, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of the late Arthur Andrew Thompson and Annabelle Powell-Thompson. She was raised by her grandmother on a farm North of Huntley after her mother passed while she was young.
Mrs. Justis attended school in Huntley and graduated from Huntley High School in 1944. She attended telegraphy school in Denver, Colo., for the Union Pacific Railroad.
She married Gordon Justis in Elko, Nev., on July 3, 1947.
Mrs. Justis was employed as a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad and worked on her family ranch.
Her interests included rock hunting, arrowhead hunting, sewing, puzzles and photography. She was an accomplished horsewoman. She loved all animals and they loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Justis, Granger; one son, Gary Justis, Green River; two daughters: Marjorie Molina, Rock Springs, and Sharon Ficklin (Tom), Granbury, Texas; sister: Jean (Bill) Tuller, Boise, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Vicki Justis, Green River; and three grandchildren: Joseph Justis, Laramie; Luke Justis, Green River; and Molly (David) Wenig, Rock Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin-brother, Lawrence; and one son, Jerry Justis.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
