Valley golfers competed in Lander

LANDER – After a two-day golf tournament Sept. 5-6 in Lander, head coach Don Toomer decided its time to get back-to-basics.

“The team is fixing some problems, and Lander was a tough course to work things out. We will get back-to-basics this week in practice,” Toomer said. “I am excited about the great kids we have this year.”

The Valley golf team travels to Evanston to practice and focus on their skills during their individual free time, expressing self-motivation.

The golf team competed in Star Valley yesterday and today. Results were unavailable at press time.

Results for the Lander meet are as follows:

Travis Toomer, 88-89; Dustin Corun, 98-86; Saylem Phillips, 102-99; Dillion Batt, 102- 101; Cole Twitchell, 101-108; and Tyson Gillies, 111-113.

The team placed eighth with a score of 729 in the Evanston Invitational August 29-30. The Valley golf team competed yesterday in Star Valley, the meet will wrap up today. Results were unavailable at press time.
