MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Lady Buffalos used home court advantage to bring in a win against the Lady Wranglers Sept. 5, and took that momentum into the match against Lyman for another win Sept. 6.

Mountain View Buffalos won in three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-19, in their season home opener conference game against the Pinedale Lady Wranglers.

“Pinedale has a new coach with a lot of returning players from last season,” said head coach Angela Sweep.

During the Pinedale match, Mountain View’s Lexi Stoddard had seven kills and 14 digs while Mariah Stoddard had two aces and two stuffed blocks.

“It is always so fun to play in our gym, the fans are fabulous and it really is a ‘home court advantage,’” said Sweep.

Mountain View extended their victory into the next night’s match against conference adversary Lyman for Lyman’s Pink Game. The Buffalos won three out of the four matches, scores of 25-11, 22-25, 25-10, 25-17.

“Lyman is a very experienced and talented team that posed a challenge. I was very proud of our players,” said Sweep.

During the Lyman match Mountain View’s Madison Vitt had 26 kills while Taylor Meeks had 14 kills. Aubrey Newton served five aces and contributed 48 assists. Arianna Kuckert had 26 digs and Hannah Bugas 12 digs.

Sweep said, “The girls came out calm with poise, confidence and composure. It was a very balanced team effort to win in four sets.”

Today and Saturday the Lady Buffalos are competing in a 3A tournament in Rawlins. Mountain View’s pool includes Wheatland, Buffalo and Cody.
