BRIDGER VALLEY—A record-breaking storm that put down four feet of snow in parts of western S.D. left ranchers dealing with substantial losses, in some cases perhaps up to half their herds. Wyoming FFA members including the Lyman High School Chapter and Mountain View High School Jim Bridger Chapter are trying to raise funds in their local communities to create Change for South Dakota.
The LHS and MVHS FFA chapters are placing donation cans around the community, asking customers to give their change to relief efforts. The donations will be collected mid-November and provided to the South Dakota Rancher Relief Fund. The fund will be administered by the Black Hills Area Community Foundation in cooperation with the South Dakota Stock Growers Association, the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association and the South Dakota Sheep Growers Association for the direct benefit of the impacted livestock producers.
