BRIDGER VALLEY – The American Legion Post 36 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7798 placed flags on graves of veterans May 24, in commemoration of Memorial Day.

Members of both Posts met at 8 a.m. at the Fort Bridger Legion Hall and then went to the Fort Bridger Cemetery with volunteers. After placing flags on the veterans’ graves in Fort Bridger, the two veterans organizations went to the other cemeteries in the Valley to put flags on the veterans’ graves.

A flag raising ceremony was held at the Fort Bridger Historical site on Memorial Day by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7798. Both groups had encouraged residents to pause and experience a moment of silence at 3 p.m. to remember Americans who had died in the nation’s wars.
