POLLOCK PINES, Calif. — The National Pony Express Association, as per information received Wednesday, has cancelled the 2020 re-ride.
This year the re-ride was to have retraced the trail from Sacramento, Calif., through Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas to St. Joseph, Missouri. Plans are to hold a re-ride in September 2021.
The cancellation, according to the press release, is due to COVID-19, and board members cancelled the event because “member and public safety is our priority.”
People who had obtained a letter purchase may leave the letters for the 2021 Re-ride with a COVID-19 delay stamp r contact the Pony Express Association for a refund.
