WyoPreps released latest polls on girls and boys basketball this week.
For the girls, “Number one in Class 3A continues to be the Douglas Bearcats. They saw their lengthy win streak come to an end at the Energy Classic in Gillette last week to a team from California, but Douglas is still a unanimous pick for No. 1.
Worland solidified their spot in second. Buffalo holds onto third, while Mountain View and Lander trade spots. The Buffaloes move up to fourth, which pushed the Tigers to No. 5.
Worland, Buffalo, and Mountain View are all part of the Winter Classic in Rawlins on Friday and Saturday. Douglas and Lander are off this weekend.
For the boys, “Lander continues to be the top pick in Class 3A, but the Tigers are not unanimous this week. Second-ranked Worland received a vote for first place.
Wheatland holds at No. 3. The Bulldogs will face top-ranked Lander in Cheyenne at the Taco John’s Invitational on Thursday.
Mountain View climbs up one position to fourth, while Powell is back in the top five at No. 5. The Panthers pushed the Buffalo Bison from the rankings. The poll closed before Powell lost to Class 2A No. 1 Rocky Mountain on Tuesday night.
The polls are published with this disclaimer — “The WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Poll is done for fun. It has no bearing on the post-season or any seeding. Coaches and Media Members across the state are invited to participate in the poll.”
