Valley football players earn post season awards

BRIDGER VALLEY — Bridger Valley football players have earned top honors from the Wyoming Coaches Association for their work on the gridiron this year.
As all Valley fans know, Bridger Valley football players are tough, can do the job on the gridiron and can help their teams cruise to the top. Mountain View was the #1 team in the West followed by Lyman as #2. Although neither team made it to the championship game recently at War Memorial, both teams were hot in the post season.
Players on both teams were recognized for their ability on the gridiron in the WCA’s release Saturday in which they named the All State players for 2A. These WAC honors are voted on by the coaches in their respective conferences, and are according to conference by-laws.
Between the two schools, seven players were named All State. The Lyman Eagles who earned this honor include Max Gregory, Sam Gregory and Morgan Hatch. Four of the Mountain View Buffalos also earned the All State honor. They include Carson Eardley, Coby Jones, Justus Platts and Jayce Schultz. Eardley was named the 2A Defensive Player of the Year on the All State slate.
Between the two Valley high schools, 17 of the guys who compete on the gridiron were named All Conference.
In addition, other accolades were given to the Valley football programs. MVHS’ Brent Walk was named the 2A West Coach of the Year. Other top awards in the West included Carson Eardley, Mountain View, was named the Defensive Player of the Year. The choice for Lineman of the Year was captured by Morgan Hatch of Lyman.
There were eight Lyman Eagles to receive the 2A West All-Conference honors. They included: Carter Bradshaw, Max Gregory, Sam Gregory, Morgan Hatch, Kyce Hurdsman, Xander Lyman, Deavon Shear and Caleb Smith.
The MVHS Buffalos to earn All-Conference honor include Fletcher Black, Carson Eardley, Seamus Hamilton, Coby Jones, Tyler Mair, Justus Platts, Jayce Schultz, Landon Solaas, and Konnor Staley.
